Angels.

It's a topic that Gv is aware of, but one she hasn't had much exposure to aside from minor encounters with these beings in our Latticed Learning Bible stories each week.

So, we were excited to read more about them when this beautiful board book arrived:

This 32-page padded-cover board book is a wonderful introduction to the subject of angels for - as the title states - little ones.

It uses vibrant illustrations and engaging text to bring eight beloved Bible stories about these heavenly hosts to life for children.

I love the illustrations in this book!

Peek in on scenes featuring Abraham, Elijah, Daniel, the birth, life and death of Jesus and John's amazing vision to observe how God used angels to carry out his will.

Gv and I enjoyed this angel story - it was one we hadn't encountered in our other Bible storybooks!

The stories are both concise and thorough - just the right bit of information to give young ones a little taste of how angels had a hand in these wonderful stories they are just getting acquainted with.

This one was our favorite!

I only wish that there had been more to this book.

There are many board books that can cover a wide range of ages (I even had some in my classroom at school!), but in my opinion, this is not one of them.

That's not to say that I don't heartily recommend this book, just that I think it's best suited for babies and toddlers - probably 3 is the uppermost limit I'd suggest.

I did discover that there is another version of this book available that I think would be perfect for older children. This 224-page hardback tome is one that will be going on our wishlist to hopefully satisfy the appetite that the board book whetted. From what I see online, this version looks like its material can keep even an older elementary school student engaged.

So if you have a child preschool-aged or older, grab the hardback copy of this title. But if you are looking for a great book to add to a baby's or toddler's library, be sure to pick up a copy of Angels in the Bible for Little Ones and introduce them to the heavenly realm.

I love adding to our collection of faith books, especially with unique titles like this one. Do you know of any other wonderful books about angels out there? I'd love to hear!  Either leave a comment below or email me at lisahealy (at) outlook (dot) com.

  2. Beautiful book. I also like that is looks really strongly constructed to be read and played with by little hands. Books are meant to be used, this one looks like it can withstand the work load.
