The goal of this post is to capture a memory from the past week, either with a camera, words, or both.  Time passes in the blink of an eye and this will create a collection of treasured memories from throughout the year.

My Snapshot(s)

Guess what I'll be up to today?

It was time for our strawberry picking weekend and once again, we came home with 16 pounds of berries!  You will find me in the kitchen the rest of this week, making my favorite sweet and savory dishes from last year's juicy haul, as well as some new creations that I'm excited to share with you here soon.

A little daddy‐daughter berry sharing before sampling the goods:

Note that we were dressed much more appropriately this year, in our drab yard work clothes that also kept us protected from the sun's rays
This was one of those occasions where G and I really noticed the difference a year can make.  As soon as we got out of the car, Gv found a discarded berry on the ground and dropped it into her bucket, then took off down the closest row to pick every berry she encountered.

"Red berries only" we quickly instructed, but that didn't stop her from plunking mushy overripe berry after overripe berry into the bucket I was using to collect only the most exquisite berry specimens in.  My task turned to that of "bucket‐weeder" before Gv thankfully grew weary of picking the berries herself and instead plopped down onto a nearby mound to just gorge herself on all that bright red sweetness:

Heading back to the car with bellies full of berries
We almost didn't even make it out to the strawberry fields this yearit's been far too hot already and we're not big fans of the sun (I know, we chose the wrong place to live, right?), but a freak cool (as in upper‐70s) front unexpectedly came through this weekend and we just had to get outside to take advantage of the beautiful day!

What was your favorite memory from this past week?  I'd love to hear about it!  Either leave a comment below or email me at lisahealy (at) outlook (dot) com.
